Antistatic Wear And Abrasion Resistant  Liners

With ever increasing need for bottled LPG, the automation in conveying and Palletizing empty and filled cylinders has become industry standard. Many of the LPG bottling Plants across the world has put in use such systems.

The essential components that are used for the purpose, like chain, sprockets and anti static wear resistant lining strips for movement of cylinders and Fiber reinforced Plastic Closing Bar, Wire pallet for palletizing, for Handling and Transportation, calls for frequent replacements.

We at Jasma Engineering , after extensively working on materials and processes, have developed all these components to give the user, its most optimum working life and trouble free working.

The Spares and Components for Bottling Plant

Chain Link - Pin

The Chain Links are manufactured in specially developed grades of Ductile Iron casting, appropriately alloyed, and Heat treated to achieve good wear and abrasion resistance characteristics.

The use of Shell or Lost wax process ensures very close and consistent tolerances.

The Link Pins are machined from Drawn Alloy Carbon Steel and are duly Heat Treated.

Chains are available in Cylindrical Pin and Oval Pin Design.

Sprockets

The sprockets are also ductile iron cast to close tolerances and heat treated to achieve most optimum wear and abrasion resistance properties. The bore is machined to required mounting details.

The Antistatic Wear and Abrasion Resistance Liners

These liners are mounted on the tracks over which the chain travels. Special Antistatic grade of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) material is used for its manufacture. The antistatic property ensures its suitability for LPG installations. Various profiles of the section like “C”, rectangular, Special shapes, Curves etc. are available. The salient features of the material are:

  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Excellent Abrasion resistance
  • High impact strength
  • Very low coefficient of friction
  • Self-lubricating Property
  • Variety of sizes and profiles
  • Comparison of dynamic coefficient of friction on polished steel, dry:
    • Mild Steel : 2.50 – 3.50
    • Nylon : 0.15 – 0.40
    • UHMWPE : 0.12 – 0.20
    • PTFE : 0.04 – 0.25

Spares for Palletizing

Fiber Reinforced Plastic, FRP Closing Bar

Special grades of FRP, having glass content over 65% and special resins are pulltruded in form of rods. They are cut to required lengths and fitted with carbon steel sheet metal fabricated end pieces at both ends by special adhesive resins and SS dowel pins.

The end pieces are fabricated from Sheet metal and are welded by spatter free TIG or CO2 process. The assembly and doweling is done with use of jigs to control the center distances of the mounting holes on end pieces to suit the Pallet size.

The Closing Mechanism Spares

Holding Parts - Lower and Upper, Cable, Spring and Spacer.

Forged and machined Carbon Steel Holding Parts, Upper and Lower are welded on the pallet frame. The Cable Assembly is mounted between them with use of spring and spacer, for FRP Closing Bar to operate through it.

lpg8

The Upper and Lower Holding Parts: Manufactured in Carbon Steel in Closed die forging, duly heat-treated and machined.

lpg9

The Wire Strand: Manufactured on high-speed machines from High Carbon Zinc plated wire. Cable: Strand is cut to size and assembled with Cold Forged pre machined and zinc plated end pieces and crimped to make Cable Assembly. The cable is tested to withstand pull of load of 700 kg.

Spacers: Machined and zinc plated carbon steel material. Spring: Stainless steel or Green Zinc plated spring steel material

Specifications :

Wire : 0.8 mm, High Carbon, Tensile 180 kg/ sq. mm
Strand : Diameter 4.0 mm, and 1 x 6 x 12 construction.
Pull off Load : 700 kg. between two crimped ends.
Springs : Material of Construction En42J or SS AISI 304
Spacers, End Pieces and Holing Parts : Carbon Steel
